Mission Statement
The Winn Parish School System will ensure high quality learning opportunities for all, create a safe and caring environment and promote family and community involvement in order to challenge students to achieve academic excellence and successfully contribute to society. The mission of Winn Parish Education is "ALL WILL LEARN ... Whatever it Takes!
Atlanta High School’s mission is to provide a high-quality education that enables ALL students to become responsible, productive citizens, and life-long learners. We want to prepare our students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel and lead in the 21st Century through a school culture that promotes wellness, academic excellence, curiosity, and creativity. We strive to meet the technological needs of today’s students and provide a learning environment for the changing needs of the future.
Atlanta High School, a public school serving grades Pre-K-12, is located in the southwest corner of Winn Parish. Since it began in 1908, it has gone through unimaginable changes, but has never wavered in its commitment to the values of honesty, integrity, and industry. The school has always encouraged its students to take risks and stretch themselves in reasonable and safe ways. The ability to think critically and creatively fosters success in life. Atlanta High School has established a tradition of academic excellence and personal support. The tradition begins with a rigorous curriculum taught by highly qualified faculty in a supportive environment. From formative preschool activities to rigorous college preparatory courses, students at Atlanta High School receive the individualized attention that allows them to thrive both in school and in life. Our school enrollment is currently 250 students, and we are classified by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association as a Class C school. We compete for athletic honors in basketball and track, focusing most of our attention on basketball. Our students prepare for athletic competition with the same dedication, tenacity, and sense of fair play that they also bring to the classroom.
Vision
The vision of the Winn Parish School System is to successfully promote life-long learning for all.
